How to setup VLC for Anime

If you want to make the default language English and disable subtitles, do the following.

  • Quit VLC
  • Go to ~/Library/Preferences/org.videolan.vlc and open the file called vlcrc, open it
  • Look for #audio-language= and make it #audio-language=English, Japanese
  • Look for #sub-track=-1 and make it #sub-track=99
  • Look for #sub-track-id=-1 and make it #sub-track-id=99
  • Save
  • Voila!
